Rotman Investors' Report 2020

At the Centre of the Issues that Matter Most

Kenneth S. CortsWith generous donor support, the Rotman School of Management is taking a leading role in tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

As you look back at some of the highlights from the past year in this Rotman Investors’ Report 2020, I hope you feel inspired. Below is a snapshot of our collective impact, as well as examples of donor support over the 2019-2020 fiscal year and into the final months of the 2020 calendar year.

Whether it’s the transformative application of AI and data analytics in business, the commercialization of breakthrough technologies, the advancement of equity and inclusion in organizations, or solving complex COVID-19-related business challenges and leading recovery efforts, Rotman is at the centre of the issues that matter most.

Thanks to the generosity and commitment of Rotman supporters, including members of our Dean’s Society, corporate partners, generous alumni and annual fund donors, Rotman is advancing on the goals set out in our 2019-2024 Academic Plan, A Catalyst for Change.

Guided by our core purpose — to create value for business and society — Rotman was well equipped to develop creative solutions when COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic in March 2020.

When I stepped into the role of Interim Dean at the end of the 2019-2020 academic year, as former Dean Tiff Macklem became Governor of the Bank of Canada, I was enormously proud to see Rotman School leadership, faculty and staff continue to build on our strong foundation of thought-leadership, education and impact.

I was also delighted to welcome our new Executive Director of Advancement, Linda Dudek, in June. Joining Rotman from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, she brings a fantastic track record of fundraising, with over 12 years of outstanding leadership experience in campaigns and business development.

As we reflect on our achievements and move forward toward ambitious goals ahead, I want to extend our immense gratitude to our valued donors. Your support is crucial to turning learning into action and insights into impact.

Sincerely,

Kenneth S. Corts

Interim Dean
