Expert in Board Effectiveness Appointed as an Executive-in-Residence at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

October 7, 2021

Toronto – An expert in board effectiveness has been appointed as an executive-in-residence at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

Matt Fullbrook is a board effectiveness researcher and consultant. Previously he was the manager of the David & Sharon Johnston Centre for Corporate Governance Innovation at the Rotman School. Under his direction, the Centre evolved into the central hub of governance research in Canada.  As an independent consultant, he has advised dozens of boards of directors as an educator, facilitator and researcher, helping them to maximize their effectiveness through the development and implementation of valuable governance processes, policies and structures. In 2020, he launched his podcast One Minute Governance, where he explores complex governance issues one minute at a time.

He will be teaching in governance programs in Rotman Executive Programs and working with the Rotman Onboard Fellowship Program. The program matches talented Rotman MBA candidates with non-profit boards and charities for eight-month fellowships. OnBoard fellows work closely with a board mentor to complete a strategic governance project based on the organization’s needs.

The Rotman School of Management is part of the University of Toronto, a global centre of research and teaching excellence at the heart of Canada’s commercial capital. Rotman is a catalyst for transformative learning, insights and public engagement, bringing together diverse views and initiatives around a defining purpose: to create value for business and society.
