Why the PharmD MBA?-Learn More
As the complexity of healthcare delivery increases, the need for pharmacists who also have management training and expertise will continue to grow. The Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree is the new standard in pharmacy education, combining in-class, laboratory, and experiential components to ensure that graduates have the knowledge, skills, and experience to succeed as front line healthcare providers. The Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree is widely recognized as the premier degree in business worldwide; MBA graduates work in both the public and private sectors, and are able to blend their professional experience with additional knowledge and skills in business management.

Anything worth doing in life takes work and the admissions process for the Combined PharmD-MBA program is no exception. To participate in this program, you must apply to and be admitted to both the PharmD and MBA programs separately.
This program is ONLY offered to students who have completed at least one 4-year degree (e.g. BSc, BA, BComm, BEng) PRIOR to enrolling in the program at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. Students who have not yet completed a degree from an accredited university are not eligible to apply. Prior completion of a 4-year degree is a University of Toronto/Rotman School of Management requirement and is not negotiable.

Though the Combined PharmD-MBA program will save you time in completing both degrees, it will not save you money – the same tuition will be charged as though you were completing both degrees separately.
The tuition fee differential between the PharmD and MBA programs is significant. The Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy is currently exploring opportunities for bursaries, scholarships, or other forms of financial aid for students in the Combined PharmD-MBA program. Additionally, students are encouraged to apply for any financial aid or awards programs administered at the Rotman School of Management once they have been accepted to the MBA program.
