The Rotman Master of Finance program
The Rotman Master of Finance is established as one of the leading finance programs in the country, with faculty recognized as world-class thought leaders in the field, and an alumni network with deep roots in the Toronto financial sector.
Much has changed since our MFin program launched in 2007. The recent development of machine learning, big data, and blockchain technology have created exciting new opportunities for financial markets and for professionals working in the field.
Our program curriculum gives you an advanced understanding of traditional finance areas, as well as new developments at the intersection of technology and finance.
Program structure
The Rotman MFin program begins in September with a welcome dinner and orientation. Regular classes are scheduled on Wednesday evenings and full days on alternating Saturdays*
Coursework will be completed within the first 16 months, with the final four-month term dedicated to capstone project.

As a Rotman Master of Finance student, you will have the opportunity to participate in activities including:
Technical workshops
Case competitions
Showcase your talent to top industry experts and impress potential employers. Each year, Rotman students participate in a wider variety of case competitions, applying their skills and knowledge to real-world challenges.
Rotman student run clubs, such as the Rotman Asset Management Association (RAMA) and Rotman Finance Association (RFA) also run and host case competitions, creating more opportunities to participate.
Self-Development Lab (SDL)
Sessions in small groups help to develop your communication and interpersonal skills. The feedback-based learning style allows you to improve your performance immediately and complements your theoretical learning in the classroom.

Mentorship
Each year a small number of students are selected to participate in a mentorship opportunity worth a senior alumnus or leader from their field, gaining insights and connections that are beneficial throughout their career.
Events and speaker series
Each year Rotman hosts over 100 public talks by best-selling authors, finance professionals and other through leaders. The insights shared by these speakers have an extraordinary impact on our students.
Speaker events are typically free for Rotman students.
