Why did you decide to study the Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting program?

I decided to study the Professional Diploma in Professional Accounting Program because of the opportunities it provides. The program is set up to help students prepare for their professional accounting exam. I’m already surprised with how much I never knew about cases, and I’m only in my second week. It’s also a great way to fast track your CPA requirements while hopefully having time to relax before you start a full-time position. I plan to spend the time travelling!

What are your main reasons for choosing Rotman?

I choose Rotman’s program for two main reasons. Firstly, I was attracted to its prestigious standing as one of Canada’s best business schools. At Rotman, the program is uniquely planned to ensure its students are prepared for their professional accounting exam. The professors are extremely interested in your learning progress, as well as the faculty providing opportunities like case competitions to continue to enhance our knowledge. The second reason I choose Rotman was due to my father. He passed away recently, and I would like to honor his name by attending the same university as he did.

What are you looking forward to most in the program?

I’m by far most excited for the case competitions. I love how the university has incorporated a major CPA component into a fun and challenging program requirement. I’m looking forward to working with my group on cases and watching our improvement over the two competitions.

The Rotman Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting (GDipPA) is a CPA Accredited 12-week summer program that helps prepare you for the Common Final Examination (CFE) and satisfies the four modules of the CPA PEP.
