Why did you decide to study the GDipPA program? 

I wanted to build upon the strong foundation I developed during undergrad and decided that it would be the best next step for me in my journey to obtain the CPA designation. I was confident that I would be getting a high quality education and would be better prepared to successfully pass the common final examination by going through this program.

What was your main reason for choosing Rotman?

I knew that I wanted to learn from the best professors and get to know the brightest students and Rotman provided the best of both worlds. One of the biggest advantages of Rotman is that it is in the heart of Toronto which provides students with unparalleled access to all the major firms which provided an exceptional recruiting experience.

What was the highlight of the Rotman experience?

Being a part of a diverse student body and getting to meet a wide variety of students definitely enhanced my Rotman experience.

Being able to develop a global network at such an early stage of my career is also invaluable and stands out as a highlight of the Rotman experience.

Did completing the program over the summer before you started work help with your new job?

Completing the program over the summer before I started work provided me with a strong technical foundation that proved valuable once I started my full-time role. I was well-equipped to perform at a high-level and was able to contribute effectively using knowledge gained from the program.

Did Rotman and the GDipPA program meet your expectations?

The caliber of the professors and students, breadth of opportunities for career growth and professional development, and access to alumni and resources at Rotman and the GDipPA program exceeded my expectations.

What would you say to someone considering choosing the GDipPA?

I would recommend them to participate in this program as it provides a strong technical foundation that is valuable throughout the process to successfully obtain a CPA designation. The program is well-organized and you will obtain a high-quality and well-rounded educational experience.

The Rotman Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting is an excellent way for you to gain advanced standing in the pursuit of a CPA. The 12-week program helps prepare you for the Common Final Examination (CFE) and allows you to advance straight to the Capstone 1 module in the CPA PEP.
