Celebrating First-Round Applicants

The first round Morning & Evening MBA candidates joined alumni, faculty and staff at Decision Day – an evening where they learned about the final decision regarding their applications and associated entrance award monies.

After a short reception where they mingled with their potential classmates, Associate Professor and Morning & Evening Academic Director John Oesch addressed the candidates. Professor Oesch emphasized the unique nature of the program, highlighting its flexibility, strong networking opportunities, and focus on accommodating working professionals.

“We want to help people transition to the next phase of their careers. Everyone here is trying to provide a personal touch for our students.”

The professor’s talk was followed by a celebration of each attendee who received an offer of admission to the program. The room was full of smiles as each candidate was called up to collect their acceptance offer.

The next application deadline for the Morning & Evening MBA is February 20, 2019, with over $1 million in award funding available. Apply soon for a better chance of receiving entrance award funding.

Reactions after receiving acceptance offer

The applicants at the events were in a joyful mood as they received their acceptances to the program. Many were enthusiastic about the opportunity to network with their future classmates.

Andi – an analyst in TD Bank’s Asset Management division – was excited to receive his offer of admission to the Morning & Evening MBA. “I want to pursue skills in the industry, and Rotman is Canada’s #1 business school.” Andi also cited Rotman’s strong alumni network and faculty as reasons why he had chosen to apply.

Many other candidates shared Andi’s enthusiasm. Katya, who had attended the University of Toronto for her undergraduate degree in engineering, sees the program as the perfect opportunity to build essential leadership skills. As a manager at a telecommunications firm, she’s looking forward to applying lessons from the program in the workplace. She was also happy to learn about the acceptance right before the holidays.

I chose the Morning & Evening MBA because it allowed me to work while I continued my education

Anirudh – a sales engineer at Cisco – chose to apply to the Morning and Evening MBA because of Rotman’s renowned reputation in finance. As someone who works downtown, he finds the program convenient as it allows him to choose a morning or evening course schedule while getting the full Rotman experience.

Several current Rotman Morning & Evening MBA students attended the event as well. Amanda, one of these students, was happy to share her experience in the program. “I chose the Morning & Evening MBA because it allowed me to work while I continued my education.” She indicated that she chose Rotman for its reputation, good location, and financial courses.

After the event concluded, it was easy to see why it had been such a success: it brought together current and future students, and was an exciting first introduction to the Morning & Evening MBA at Rotman.
