Prof. Dmitry Krass discusses industry trends with Peter Husar, VP, Analytics Strategy and Planning, Enterprise Data and Analytics at TD. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are helping transform strategy and planning. The fireside chat will begin at 6:00 pm held at the Rotman School of Management, 105 St. George Street, in the Career Centre Lounge, 2nd floor, room 287 and followed by a networking reception at 7:00 pm.

Peter Husar is Vice President, Analytics Strategy and Planning, Enterprise Data and Analytics at TD Bank Group. Peter and his team are responsible for developing a standard operating model for analytics functions at the Bank, working across the bank to improve analytics capabilities as well as managing industry and academic relationships with partners outside of the Bank. He also sits on the Enterprise LGBTQ2+ Diversity and Inclusion council at the bank.

Peter's career includes 25 years of progressive national and international experience in aligning technology to realize maximum business benefit. He spent many of these years focusing on Advanced Analytics, Business Intelligence, Master Data, and Data Warehousing.

Before joining TD, Peter was a Partner at Deloitte in their Information Management and Analytics Practice where he provided leadership and strategic guidance to Financial Services clients engaged in transformational data projects.

Prior consulting roles include working with IBM Canada in business analytics and optimization, and Oracle in technology and business intelligence. Peter holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management Information Systems and Finance, both from the Schulich School of Business.

Dmitry Krass is a Professor of Operations Management and Statistics and Academic Director, MMA Program at Rotman and Sydney C. Cooper Chair in Business and Technology. Obtaining his Ph.D. in Operations Research from Johns Hopkins University, he joined the School in 1989. He consults extensively in the areas of Predictive Analytics, Optimization of Marketing Communications and Operational Effectiveness. His research and teaching interests include facility location models, transportation, reliability and inventory location modeling and humanitarian logistics. He is also interested in environmental modeling, including regulation of pollution fines, marketing mix management and optimization, and predictive/ prescriptive analytics using “big data” and other tools in business decision making.
