Tiff Macklem brings exceptional depth and experience to his role as dean of the Rotman School. Before Rotman, Macklem was senior deputy governor at the Bank of Canada, where he helped guide Canada through the financial crisis of 2008.

The Government of Canada in April 2018 appointed Dean Tiff Macklem to chair the Expert Panel on Sustainable Finance. The four person Panel — Dean Macklem, Andy Chisholm, Kim Thomassin and Barbara Zvan — released its Final Report in June 2019.
