Admission Criteria

The Rotman One-Year Executive MBA program attracts high achievers from a range of industries, including traditional for-profit businesses, not-for-profit enterprises, research institutes and entrepreneurial ventures. Rotman selects qualified students who demonstrate a well-rounded combination of abilities – professional achievement, interpersonal skills, leadership potential, and their ability to add value to the class.

Minimum admission requirements:

  • 8+ years of full-time work experience
  • 3+ years in a mid-to-senior management role
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills
  • People and/or project management experience
  • Current full-time employment

Application Process

Our personalized approach aims to streamline your application process, and ensure that the Rotman Executive MBA is the right fit for your career and personal goals. Applicants are admitted on a rolling basis. Apply early as space is limited.

  1. Submit your resume to emba@rotman.utoronto.ca
  2. We will contact you to discuss your experience, career goals and next steps
  3. In-person or Skype meeting with a member of the admission team
  4. Online application, along with the following
    • current resume
    • two professional reference forms
    • official transcript from each post-secondary institution attended
    • employer consent form
    • application fee
  5. Successful completion of the Rotman Executive Diagnostic Test (EDT), or GMAT/GRE equivalent if required
    GMAT test code: BTD-KS-44
  6. Successful completion of the TOEFL or IELTS, if you have completed your undergraduate degree(s) in a language other than English. Contact us to to find out if this is a requirement for you.

Once all components of your application have been received, the Admissions Committee will review your file and get back to you within a few days.

For the class which will start in September 2019, the application deadlines are:

  • November 14, 2018
  • March 13, 2019
  • June 12, 2019

We encourage you to submit your application early: offers of admission are made on a rolling basis, and the class may fill before the deadlines.
