Veteran Financial Services Executive Appointed as Executive-in-Residence at University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

Toronto – A financial services executive with more than 35 years of experience in global capital markets has been appointed as an executive-in-residence at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.  

Ray Williams is currently Managing Director & Vice Chairman, Financial Markets at National Bank Financial, one of the top six investment dealers in Canada. During his career in both Toronto and London, UK, he has extensive experience in cash and derivatives products in multiple asset classes, infrastructure financing, provincial & federal liability management, and mortgage finance companies financing and hedging of securitized product. 

At the Rotman School, he will mentor students in both the Rotman Commerce and MBA programs and provide insights about the career experience of black professionals in Canada.  

Williams is committed to community engagement, in particular in the area of diversity and inclusion efforts. He serves on leadership boards for various organizations, including 100Strong Foundation.  From 2000 to 2006, he was an advisor to the federal government as part of an External Advisory Group (EAG) on Embracing Change, a program designed to reconcile the evident disparities of visible minorities within the federal public service and federally regulated industries. He is a Past & Founding President and continuing member of The Canadian Association of Urban Financial Professionals (CAUFP) the pre-eminent professional trade organization for minorities in the financial services industry.  He holds degrees from North Staffs University and Coventry University and has obtained his ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors in conjunction with the Rotman School.
