Appointment of Adjunct Professors Support Specialized Finance Programs at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

Toronto – Two experts with professional knowledge of machine learning applications in finance and risk management have been appointed as adjunct professors at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. Both will continue teaching in the School’s specialized finance programs including the Master of Finance and the Master of Financial Risk Management (MFRM).

Jacky Chen, BSc’16, MFRM’17, will pursue research through the Rotman FinHub on practical machine learning applications in finance with a focus on derivatives trading, asset management, and risk management, and currently teaches courses on those subjects. He is currently Director, Total Fund Completion Portfolio Strategies, Capital Markets with OPTrust.

Bruce Choy is currently Managing Director, Research with the Global Risk Institute, where he leads research on future and emerging risks faced by the financial services industry. He currently teaches courses on risk management at the Rotman School. Dr. Choy holds a PhD from the University of Sydney, a MS, Management from Stanford University, and is a graduate of the Rotman School’s Directors Education Program.
