New Principals Appointed at the Impact Consulting Group at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management

June 5, 2023

Toronto – Six new principals have joined the Impact Consulting Group, a student-run consultancy at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. Each year, a new team of MBA students is selected to lead the organization, which provides professional and cost-effective consulting services to clients in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.

This year’s team has years of work experience in the healthcare, financial services, infrastructure, manufacturing, and media industries as well with non-profit organizations. Ananya Bhattacharya, Matthew Cox, Khaja Shaik Mohammed, Giulio Pacozzi and Sharon Wang are all from the Full Time MBA Class of 2024 while Annie Yao is a PharmD/MBA student from the Class of 2024.

“At IMPACT, my teammates and I are running our own professional consulting firm as business partners. We take full ownership of every aspect of our consulting projects, from business development to final recommendations, while supported by the board and the Rotman faculty. The exposure and level of ownership are invaluable, especially to young professionals at the early stage of their careers. It’s a truly unique entrepreneurial experience that cannot be replicated anywhere else,” says Sharon Wang, MBA’24.

The team draws on their experience as well as the resources at the University of Toronto to provide personalized solutions to their clients in the areas of strategic planning, scenario modelling and analysis, ESG strategies, change management, employee engagement, process mapping and controls, market sizing, pricing strategy, competitor analysis, customer surveys and insights, digital strategy and planning, human centric UX and design, and data analytics.

“Impact consulting so far has been a truly unparalleled opportunity in terms of self-development and learning about how to deliver real value to customers. Guided by a board of directors and the professors here at Rotman, we are able to go beyond our MBA and practically provide solutions to our clients that really do make a difference. I truly don’t think I would ever learn so much in any other internship with the freedom and flexibility to change our approach as we go, leverage insights and expertise, and collaboratively meet and overcome obstacles to find what actually works.” says Matthew Cox, MBA’24.
