Andre de Faria Ferraz Pereira

MBA 2022 Candidate

Andre is originally from Brazil. Before Rotman, he worked with strategy in a bank and tried to use business design in as many things as possible. He is passionate about building and supporting great communities, which is why he became the GBC president at Rotman.

Avantika Sardana

MBA 2022 Candidate

Passionate about helping organizations make human-centric decisions stemmed through Business Design and strong interpersonal skills. Avantika Sardana is a Human Behaviour enthusiast and curious about transforming her creative ideas to solve complex business problems. President at Business Design Club (BDC) and Business Design Initiative (BDI), Rotman Fellow 2020-22, she has a background in Commerce and worked in Human Capital space, at Accenture strategy for four years. Her work experience revolves around Strategy, Organizational Behaviour, Design Thinking and Analytics. She has interned at Toronto Police, in Analytics and Innovation unit during the summer and continues to do part-time with police. Avantika believes that “Creativity loves constraints” and asks, "what are the constraints that you are working within your life and how does it feed into your creativity?

Benjamin Jones

MBA 2022 Candidate

Ben is a JD/MBA student at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and Rotman School of Management. Prior to attending Rotman, he graduated with distinction from the Life Sciences program at Queen's University. At Rotman, he is pursuing a major in investment banking, which he will use to inform a legal practice focusing on capital markets and securities regulation. He is currently the Governance Counsel and Chief Returning Officer of Rotman's Graduate Business Council. In the summer of 2022, Ben will be a summer associate at the New York office of Sidley Austin LLP, a leading international law firm.

Bryan Yau

MBA 2022 Candidate

Bryan is a third-year JD/MBA candidate from Scarborough, ON. Before joining the MBA program, he previously worked in financial services with a major Canadian bank and pension plan and was a policy researcher with a focus on international development.

Carlos Cardenas

MBA 2022 Candidate

Carlos is originally from Peru. He lived many years in Europe and the United States as he did his undergraduate education, master’s degree and half of his working experience across various states in the US. Carlos has an engineering background and spent most of the time in the oil and gas industry. Later in his career, he founded his own movie production and distribution company in Peru, with five movie projects under his belt. Carlos is currently pursuing his Full-Time MBA at Rotman School of Management and upon graduation will be working for Amazon as a Pathways Operations Manager.

Chris Lee

Chris is a second year FTMBA student looking to specialize in strategic management. He did his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in physics and worked in management consulting in Germany and Italy before coming to Rotman.

Drishti Chawla

MBA 2022 Candidate

Drishti is a second-year FT MBA student- she thinks of herself as a quant girl in a marketing world, who fell in love with analytics and uses that to create stories for the marketing positions she’s had over the past 4 years in various industries. She loves to give back and is happy to help incoming students with any questions or worries they may have.

Gundave Doshi

MBA 2022 Candidate

Gundave holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance from the University of London and has completed the CFA examinations. Prior to Rotman, Gundave had experience in a Chicago-based proprietary trading firm and also as a Valuations Analyst in EY where he focused on the Telecom and Real Estate sectors. For his summer internship, Gundave worked at SLC Management in their Private Fixed Income team.

Hamed Karimian

Hamed has co-founded three successful companies in his native Iran. Being also a CDL fellow student, Hamed is excited to step into the world of international business in a high-tech company.

Huy Luong

MBA 2022 Candidate

Huy has run businesses in publishing, e-learning, and F&B industries for ten years. He has successfully raised funds from a venture capital firm, so he understands the processes and nuances involved in working with investors. Having a Computer Science background, Huy has leveraged technology to build innovative and leading products that meet customers’ needs. He is skilled at devising strategies, building firm structures for sustainable growth, and scaling up businesses in new markets. He enjoys mentoring other founders in various industries, helping them analyze problems from different perspectives and finding proper solutions. His motto is “Have fun in everything.”

Jahanvi Maheshwari

MBA 2022 Candidate

Jahanvi is an Electronics and Instrumentation Engineer with 3 years of experience as a Technology Consultant/Product Owner in Deloitte's Fintech domain. Part of her job was to liaison between the clients and technology team to deliver business solutions. She also freelanced as a Marketing Consultant for a digital marketing start-up and went on to explore the Ad Tech industry as an Account Manager before starting her MBA journey. This summer, she interned at Amazon as a Pathways Ops Manager. Growing up, she has lived across ten different cities, towns, and villages in India and loves exploring food, music, and different dance forms.

James Weiss

MBA 2022 Candidate

James is an MBA student at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. This past summer James worked at Boston Consulting Group in their Toronto office. Prior to attending Rotman, James worked in the Financial Services Transformation practice of Deloitte. As a Consultant, he has worked with Canada’s leading financial institutions on topics ranging from technology strategy to enterprise-risk related initiatives. He studied Mathematical Engineering at Queen’s University.

Jimmy Zhou

MBA 2022 Candidate

I am a third-year JD/MBA student. My interests lie at the intersection of business, law, and technology. Most recently, I worked at Fasken, a large full-service law firm in Toronto, as an Associate Product Manager on the Innovation team. Before enrolling at Rotman, I spent a year working in Silicon Valley as a Software Developer at some of the world's largest technology companies. I hold a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.

Ly Tran

Ly holds her bachelor’s degree in Economics. She spent 5 years working in category management and technology procurement in Vietnam before starting her MBA at Rotman. She's a career switcher and is currently doing her brand management internship at P&G. She loves making new friends, taking film photos, and visiting museums! Mallika is a second year Rotman MBA candidate with an interest in consulting. She spent her summer interning at Mastercard Advisors and will continue working in consulting after graduation. Prior to Rotman, Mallika worked at a Silicon Valley tech start-up, a brand and retail consultancy, and her own start-up.

Michaela Eckel

MBA 2022 Candidate

Michaela received her B.S. in Industrial and Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. After graduating, she spent three years working at Johnson & Johnson in the Technology Leadership Development Program. Looking to balance her technical skills with a strong business acumen, Michaela moved to Toronto to pursue her MBA at Rotman. She hopes to secure a role in healthcare strategy post-MBA.

Natasha holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Delhi. Prior to Rotman, Natasha as the Assistant Manager for The Oberoi Group. For her summer internship, Natasha worked at CIBC as a GLDP Summer Associate under the Workforce Transformation Strategy.  


Omar Mneimneh

MBA 2022 Candidate

Omar Mneimneh is a Rotman MBA Candidate coming from Beirut, Lebanon. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Mechatronics and Instrumentation from the American University of Beirut (AUB). In the past 5 years, Omar worked for a global engineering consulting firm while managing an exciting start-up, Orendance, providing career counseling services to high school students. For his summer internship, Omar joined CIBC’s Graduate Leadership Development Program and did his rotation with the Enterprise Innovation team. As an internal consultant, he deployed analytical and business design tools to tackle the bank’s most challenging business cases and explore the art of the possible. At Rotman, Omar is leading the GBC career portfolio as a VP Industry Relations and Careers. Omar aspires to improve student engagement in careers by bringing a personalized career coaching experience powered by Rotman’s unique Alumni community and industry partnerships. Omar will act as a liaison between the different stakeholders and will assist the Career Services at Rotman to ensure students are well supported throughout their MBA journey.

Renato Fernandes

MBA 2022 Candidate

Renato is from Brazil and he has a background in Economics. He is an experienced Finance professional in both Tech and Consumer Goods industries. He landed a summer internship as Global Venture Analyst at the Creative Destruction Lab and serves as a board member for Bikechain at the University of Toronto. He loves the outdoors and riding a bicycle, and he is willing to share his professional experiences and his passion for sports!

Renato Monzon

MBA 2022 Candidate

Renato holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Peru). In the past, he was an Investor Relations analyst with one of the largest financial corporations in Latin America. Then, he pivoted into credit risk management, becoming a senior manager with Scotiabank Peru’s corporate credit group. He is a CFA candidate and a Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst candidate at the Corporate Finance Institute. For his MBA internship, he joined the Strategy and Acquisitions group at Ontario Power Generation. Post MBA, he is eager to pursue a career in the intersection of investment valuation and M&A. On the personal side, he is co-founder of a non-profit start-up providing education in his home country, Peru, a civil aviation enthusiast, and an amateur soccer player.

Ronke Akinsola

MBA 2022 Candidate

Ronke is passionate about finance and worked in the Corporate Banking division of CIBC Capital Markets for her summer internship, learning from and contributing to the Sustainable Finance team and Financial Institutions & Public Sector Group. Prior to the MBA, Ronke was a research analyst in Lagos Nigeria covering the financial services sector in her most recent role. She is a CFA charter holder with an undergraduate degree in Economics from University of Lagos, Nigeria. Ronke plans to broaden her experience in finance and will continue to apply her knowledge in the capital markets post MBA.

A two-time founder with a background in web development, e-commerce, supply chain. Sebastian has a background in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Before joining Rotman, he acquired experience in different industries and roles, but found his passion in Wealth Management. During the summer he worked at CIBC Capital Markets and plans to continue his Wealth Management career once he graduates.

Stephanie worked as a Corporate Lawyer in financial markets in China, assisting clients with IPOs, cross-border M&A, bond issuance, and other projects in Capital Markets, covering nuclear energy, infrastructure, renewable energy, and securities industries. At Rotman, she has concentrated on Finance and Strategy.
