Why did you decide to join the Master of Management Analytics program?

I decided to join the Master of Management Analytics (MMA) program because I am interested in developing my analytics toolkit and enhancing my skills in topics such as machine learning and artificial intelligence. I enjoy solving complex problems and I feel that many of today’s problems are solved using some form of analytics. During my work experience in the aircraft and medical manufacturing industries, I noticed the importance of data analytics skills and the ability to communicate your analysis to management. I felt that the MMA program offered an opportunity to improve my skills in both of those fields which is why I decided to dedicate myself to learning these concepts in a structured environment.

Top Reason(s) for choosing Rotman:

I chose Rotman for the following reasons:

1. Location! The city of Toronto offers exposure to top companies in many different industries
2. The curriculum emphasizes developing a technical foundation while focusing on the practicality of the teachings and development of communication skills
3. A strong and versatile alumni network
4. Prestigious rankings in North America and internationally
5. Exposure to a diverse group of students

What are you looking forward to the most in the program?

The thing I am looking forward to most in the program is working with students from different backgrounds, each with their own skillset. One of the advantages of Rotman’s MMA program is its diversity in terms of nationality, education, and work experience. Each individual brings a different perspective to the table, and I am excited to mesh those different perspectives into a strong team deliverable.

What do you expect to gain in your next 11 months at Rotman?

I expect to develop the foundation and skills to be able to identify a business problem and develop a data-driven solution to that problem, whether that is applying a machine learning model or performing some form of analytics. Additionally, I expect to expand my network and understand the different kinds of opportunities and industries where data analytics is being leveraged.
