ANTAD Expo Mexico 2023

GMI - Expo ANTAD Mexico 2023 (March 7 - 9, 2023)

 

Rotman Institute for International Business and the Toronto Region Board of Trade worked together to develop programs that bridge the gap between academia and industry. This involved creating internships, co-op placements, and experiential learning opportunities that equip students with the skills and experiences needed to succeed in the job market.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Leigh Smout, Monika Duddy and Jose Santoyo for playing an incredible role in this partnership. Additionally, we express our gratitude to Andrew Patitucci for valuable support.

Twelve Rotman MBA students participated in the Trade Acceleration Program (TAP) – Northern Ontario, supporting the following companies in creating their Export Plans.

CYDEF, a Canadian cybersecurity company dedicated to offering SMEs access to managed protection, detection and response for their computer networks. Ella Nguyen and Diana Mwandidya were the MBA students allocated to this company.

Bay Communications, a provider of trade-related content for governments and companies and trade facilitation services, benefitted from the assistance of MBA students Pan (Matt) Xu and Celestina Dong.

Atlas Yoga Studio and School provides in-person, live online and on demand yoga classes, workshops, retreats, teacher training and yoga therapist training. Praneetha Vasan and Temi Ajibode supported the efforts of this organization.

Six MBA students also participated in the Expo ANTAD & Alimentaria Mexico 2023 held in Guadalajara, Mexico, Mar 7 - 9, 2023. The annual expo is related to sectors Drinks, Cleaning, Store, Hygiene and Food. They performed work on behalf of two Canadian companies: Kulture Rebellion and Nature’s Mix.

Kulture Rebellion created a new category of alcoholic beverages made from fermented tea, fruit juices and syrups with gut friendly bacteria. MBA students Swati Chawla, Aakash Nain and Sherlyn Yang put together a market overview including consumer analysis, competitor landscape and target recommendations.

Nature’s Mix. MBA students Salim El Hachem, Niloofar Pourghazi and Sukriti Verma researched the granola brands in Mexico, including field visits to the local supermarkets to perform market research. The intelligence gathered was then used in formulating a market entry strategy for the Mexican market.

Fourteen MBA students participated in the Trade Acceleration Program (TAP) – Tech Program.

Flywheel Strategic is a full-service digital experience agency. Bryan Chang, Jose Perez Ballester, Zhen Liu and Igor Konovalov participated in this project.

Just Vertical provides indoor gardens - a fusion of the cutting edge science of vertical farming and mid-century modern design that allow anyone to grow their own food at home, all year long. They were assisted by MBA students (Funmi) Olunfunmilayo Adekoya, Jerome Kan and Yvonne Yang.

Comeback Snacks is a four-year old snack food brand focused on ready to eat popcorn. Joel Baptist and Rrahul Topiwala supported this company in their efforts.

Cheetah International Brewers is in the business oof manufacturing and distribution of beer. They were assisted by MBA students Kunal Rao and Naina Gulati.

The Dirty Seahorse is dedicated to developing women's workwear for women in the trades. Yanyi Guo and Yamini Nishikant Talgaonkar supported this company with their Export Plan.

Reimagine Fashion is a clothing and textile company. MBA students Annie Hua and Naina Gulati were assigned to this company.
